Ayutthaya Map of 1926 by Ken May

This research category is based on my book: “Deserted Temples of Ayutthaya”, which was published in 2007 by the Ayutthaya Studies Institute. In the original draft, I wrote about 200 temple ruins in Ayutthaya. The research involved several years of tracking them down — including dangers like getting chased by packs of stray dogs, stumbling across a variety of poisonous snakes, and dodging recklessly speeding motorcycles. In the actual published version of “Deserted Temples Of Ayutthaya”, only 90 of these temple made it into print. Half the book was written in English, and the other half was comprised of the Thai translation. This way, the book could be used for teaching in classes at Rajabhat University Phranokorn Si Ayutthaya. All copies have since sold out.
